Hi! I am Wendy Carson. I have been a truck driver for over 10 years. I am married to my best friend, soulmate, and co-driver. He has been driving for over 22 years.
I was a nurse when we met, but then I decided to change careers. That’s when I looked into truck driving schools. Found one, went to class for 6 weeks, took my test, and passed! (Look out world!!!) It was SO scary. My husband was the one to train me, and what a time he had. I was not a nice student.
The expectations I had about driving a truck were not what the reality is. It was stressful, hard, and excitingly different. So here I am now. I want to give others a laugh and an insight as to what the real job is like in the real world. What to really expect as well as funny stories. Some good do’s and don’ts. I would love to give some ideas of what helped me so maybe it can help other newbie drivers.
My husband and I have traveled all over the United States, seen things that are absolutely beautiful and terrifying, stunning animals and scenery. We have graduated to a big sleeper, and it has been one adventure after another. I have been in some horrifying situations, as has my husband, and we have made many friends along the way.
We have 2 Dachshunds and a cat that traveled the the United States with us. They are NOT good guard animals, and 2 of them will run for the bunk when we wash the truck.
So, sit back, tilt the steering wheel in the upright position, and enjoy the stories and some of our ideas.
